I am so excited for my first-semester as an Assistant Professor of Engineering at Boston College! This fall I will be teaching our Third-Year Reflection course, which is a required seminar for all third-year students where they will explore the relationships among engineering, design, and society. In particular, they will explore ideas of engineering identity, service-based engineering, and what it means to engage with communities during engineering project work. The third-years are the inaugural class in the Human-Centered Engineering major at BC, and I am looking forward to getting to know them through reflection this fall.

The above infographic about me was sent out to all the students so they could get to know me. I am really enjoying the community feel of the department and of BC, and look forward to integrating my teaching ethos and research focus with the human-centered engineering program. I do hope to hire a postdoc and undergraduate students later this fall; interested parties can email me at my BC email address, and include their CV and a short statement.
