Another year, another ABE Graduate Symposium!
This year’s ABE Graduate Symposium was part of Purdue’s Ideas Festival: Sustainability for the 21st Century events! To celebrate it’s 150th anniversary, Purdue has been hosting many “ideas festival” events, providing opportunities for discussion on critical challenges that will need tackled in the future. The event was open to the whole university, and I really enjoyed networking with industry representatives and learning about other research happening on campus.
I got the 3rd place Graduate Student Poster prize from the poster session! That was a really nice surprise to end a great Monday. I especially enjoyed Dr. Jen Wilcox‘s keynote talk on if carbon capture could be the next moonshot. She did a great job deep diving on carbon capture while also talking broadly about efforts to combat climate change and what we all as individuals can do. Hats off to the ABE Symposium Committee and the Purdue Office of Sustainability for bringing her here!
