Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels & Chemicals 2018

This past week, students and faculty from the research laboratory I work in were able to give presentations at the annual Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels & Chemicals (SBFC) hosted by the Society for Industrial Microbiology (SIMB). SBFC is always a great meeting to hear about advances not only in biofuels but in bioproducts development and gains in the bioeconomy. I really enjoyed the technical sessions, and the views from the hotel were not bad either.

I gave a rapid fire (1 minute!) presentation and had a poster in the poster session. I was glad to be kept busy the entire session sharing my work with academics, industry leaders, and representatives from government labs. It was a great chance to catch up with some folks I met at SBFC last year and to make some new connections! Looking forward to SBFC being in Seattle next year!

Thanks to Purdue Graduate Student Government and the College of Engineering Travel Grants that sponsored my attendance at SBFC!
